Théo Hennequin

Théo Hennequin is a Brussels-based graphic designer and visual artist with a conceptually driven practice spanning culture, music and sport. He collaborates with institutions, artists, festivals and collectives, from major museums to independent structures, to articulate distinctive positions across print, digital and motion.

His practice is rooted in the circulation of images and forms between swiss rigour, experimental layering and popular cultures, from the football stand to the mountain trail, using the distance between them as a space for inquiry.

About

schiev

2024, Brussels

Client: schiev
Collaborators: Alliage

Electronica and experimentation are the hallmarks of the Schiev Festival’s musical identity. In keeping with this, the visual identity for the 2024 edition offers a space for play and graphic experimentation, resulting in a unique design inspired by captchas.

A set of 30 visuals for the Schiev 2024 festival’s brand identity, inspired by CAPTCHAs: distorted text fields (‘schiev’, ‘beursschouwburg’, ‘2–3–4 Feb 2024’) and grids of photographs to tick off, set against brightly coloured backgrounds; two of them feature the festival programme
Second sheet of 30 captcha-style images, featuring distorted, cut-out or textured letters: ‘schiev’, ‘bazaar’, ‘shape+ residency’, ‘call for projects’, festival dates, grids of artists’ photographs and the programme for Friday 2 February
A detail of a white T-shirt, printed with a midnight blue dot pattern: a CAPTCHA featuring the distorted word ‘schiev’, accompanied by an empty text field, a speaker icon and a reload button
The back of a white T-shirt, printed in midnight blue: around ten captchas in different styles, all centred on the word ‘schiev’ (interlaced, pixelated, striped and cut-out letters), beneath the address schiev.com/a-simple-music-festival_brussels/
